12月10-11日にオンライン開催した国際フォーラムIFAWET-4には、主催国である日本・香港の他、インド、タイ、韓国・パキスタン、中国、スリランカ、豪州、フィリピン他から合計190名の方にご参加いただきました。イベント報告 として、講演時の画像を公開しました。

この度は本国際フォーラムにご参加いただき、誠にありがとうございました。昨年度から計画を進めてきたIFAWET-4は、参加費無料のオンライン開催もあり多くの聴衆も得ておかげさまで盛況のうちに終了いたしました。
招待講演（16件）でも活発な質疑応答が行われましたが、特に３つの基調講演では多く寄せられた質問への回答を予定時間枠を超えて行うことになりました。ポスター発表は、アジア圏の研究員や大学院生を中心に32件の発表がありました。東京大学からも、センター教員・協力教員が指導する研究員・学生らが発表を行いました。
1日半の本フォーラムの開催により、若手研究者の交流・情報交換の機会が提供されたことで、アジア圏での研究者ネットワーク形成に大いに役立ててもらいたい考えております。

ウェブサイトが立ち上がり、続々と詳細が決まりつつあります！世界的に著名な3名の先生方、Shane A. Snyder教授（Nanyang Technological University）、田中周平先生（京都大学）、Hokyong Shon教授（University of Technology Sydney）に基調講演をいただけることになりました。
16コマを予定している口頭発表の論文は、国際誌特集企画への掲載のチャンスがあります。ポスターセッションには、大学院生や博士研究員だけでなく、地方自治体や企業からの参加もウェルカムです。ポスター発表のアブストラクト投稿はこちらです。
2021年8月情報
6月に引きつづき、8月上旬に日本・香港の合同打合せを行いました。当国際フォーラムの核となるMembrane, Advanced Oxidation Processes, Emerging issuesの３トピック別に、欧米豪アジアの第一人者らを挙げて基調講演の候補を絞りました。講演依頼を始めています。また、イベント専用ウェブサイト制作にも着手していますので、詳細発表までもう少しお待ちください。
2021年6月情報
日本・香港の若手研究者らの交流促進を念頭に、企画を進めています。香港城市大学との5月の月例合同打合せでは、日本側からはRECWET専任教員と学内外から7名の若手研究者が参加し、議論を展開しました。
開催日は2021/12/10(金)-11(土)に決定です！基調講演者や発表論文募集などを進めます。また、オンライン無料参加も検討中ですので、どうぞ日程をあけておいてください。
2021年4月情報
3⽉に⾹港城市⼤学との合同打合せを⾏いました。IFAWETの主要な⽬的の１つである「若⼿研究者の交流・情報交換の機会を提供して研究連携を深める」を実⾏するためには、対⾯開催が望ましいもののコロナ禍のなか困難な状況です。そこで、国際会議開催助成をいただいている公益財団法⼈クリタ⽔・環境科学振興財団の了承を得て、2021年9⽉末までの開催時期を延⻑いただき、12⽉（クリスマス前）での開催に変更可能となりました。これにより、対⾯会議とオンライン会議のハイブリッド開催の可能性を本格的に検討しています。

IFAWET-4の開催に向けて、水環境分野で活躍されている若手の研究者の方々に協力をあおぎながら、企画内容の具体化を進めています。 共催する香港城市大学との2回目の打合せを月末に予定しており、急ピッチで詳細を検討しています。
2020年10月情報
(公財)クリタ水・環境科学振興財団に加え、共同主催する⾹港城市⼤学でもEnvironment and Conservation Fund(ECF)から助成を受けられることになりました。これらを最⼤限活用し、⾹港側パートナーの Alicia AN 准教授と協働で企画を本格化させます。
2020年8月情報
国際会議開催について、(公財)クリタ水・環境科学振興財団様の助成を受けられることになりました。今回は香港城市大学と協力し、2021年9月までに国際フォーラム IFAWET-4 を開催いたします。（この後、開催月を変更）
2020年6月情報
海外開催としては通算16回目となるシリーズイベントの2年ぶり開催（予定：香港）に向け、助成金に申請済です。

The international forum IFAWET-4 which was held online on December 10-11 was attended by a total of 190 people from the host countries Japan and Hong Kong, as well as India, Thailand, South Korea, Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka, Australia, the Philippines and others. As an event report, the image files of the lectures were released.

Thank you for participating in this international forum. IFAWET-4, which we have been planning since last year, was successfully completed. It gathered a large audience partly because it was held online with no participation fee.
A lively Q&A session was held with 16 invited lectures. However, especially in the three keynote lectures, we decided to extend the time frame to answer a number of questions. There were 32 poster presentations, mainly by researchers and graduate students in Asia. Also, from the University of Tokyo, researchers and students under the guidance of RECWET and its collaborative members made presentations.
We hope that this one-and-a-half-day forum will provide opportunities for young researchers to interact and exchange information, which will greatly contribute to the formation of a researcher network in the Asian region.

Despite the short-term call, we received 32 applications for poster presentations. Young researchers will gather from universities and other institutions in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Nepal and China. The link to the details of the Poster Session is at the bottom.

Call for Poster Presentatios until November 10th. It would be appreciated if you could ask the graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in your laboratory to apply for presentations. We also welcome presentations from local governments and businesses.

The website has been launched and details are being decided one after another! Three world-renowned researchers, Prof. Shane A. Snyder (Nanyang Technological University), Assoc. Prof. Shuhei Tanaka (Kyoto University), and Prof. Hokyong Shon (University of Technology Sydney) will give keynote speeches.
16 oral presentations will have a chance to be published in a special issue of international journals. Not only graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, but also local governments and companies are welcome to participate in the poster session. August 2021
Joint meetings between Japan and Hong Kong were held in June and early August. We’ve narrowed down the candidates for keynote speeches by listing the leading figures in Europe, the U.S., Australia and Asia for the three pillar topics of this forum: Membrane, Advanced Oxidation Processes, and Emerging issues. We’ve started contacting the candidates as well as building a dedicated website. So, please wait for a while until the details are announced.
June 2021
We are proceeding with the project with the aim of promoting exchanges between young researchers from Japan and Hong Kong. At the monthly joint meeting with City University of Hong Kong in May, RECWET members and seven young researchers from inside and outside U-Tokyo participated in the discussion.
The date has been decided on 2021/Dec/10 (Friday) -11 (Saturday)! We will continue to solicit keynote speakers and presentation papers. We are also considering free online participation, so please leave a schedule.
April 2021
We had a joint meeting with City University of Hong Kong in March. One of the main objectives of IFAWET is providing opportunities for young researchers to interact and exchange information to deepen research collaboration. Thus, a face-to-face forum is desirable whereas it is difficult in the pandemic. Our sponsor Kurita Water and Environment Foundation agreed that we will postpone it from September to December (before Christmas) 2021. As a result, a face-to-face and online hybrid forum is being planned in earnest.
December 2020
For the 4th IFAWET, we are working to materialize the content of the project with the cooperation of young, active researchers in the water environment field. We are planning the details at a rapid pace for the second meeting with City University of Hong Kong at the end of the month.
October 2020
The Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF) will also support our co-organizer in addition to the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation. Taking full advantage of these, we will start full-scale planning in collaboration with Associate Professor Alicia AN, our partner on Hong Kong side.
August 2020
We are going to receive a grant from the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation. This time, the international forum IFAWET-4 will be held by September 2021 in cooperation with City University of Hong Kong. (Later we changed the schedule)
June 2020
We have applied for a grant for our 16th overseas event to be held for the first time in two years (planned in Hong Kong).
